Maria Krasilova
I create music in scores, songs, theatre and in real time. My work connects Russia, Israel, Georgia and international communities, in Russian, English and Hebrew.
Ten years in Playback Theatre
A decade of Playback Theatre has trained me to listen to a person’s real story, respond to performers instantly and shape sound into an artistic form while the action is unfolding.
Miaphonia Voice Festival, Georgia
At the international Miaphonia Voice Festival I work as a workshop leader and Playback Theatre musician. Festival archive pages identify me as a facilitator and document my singing, sounding and vocal-improvisation classes. I first presented my workshop “Emotion into Song” there and led vocal improvisation circles in a practice I learned with composer-improviser Roman Stolyar, drawing on Bobby McFerrin’s circlesong tradition.
Theatre and historical sound
In Yperite, created with Siberian director Sergey Chernykh, I performed and edited a sound world built from music and poetry connected with World War I and the years 1914–1918. The work received recognition at festivals in Chișinău and Novosibirsk.
Current work
I teach voice, piano, listening and improvisation, and develop embodied creative practices where body, sound, attention and spontaneous composition can meet. These are artistic and educational practices, not psychotherapy.
